- 30' deep x 30' wide

TAILGATE RULES
Please review TAILGATE RULES carefully prior to purchasing a ticket.  

Reservations

In order to set-up to tailgate during 'Aggies on Elm', an application to tailgate must be submitted in order to be considered for a space.  Upon approval, the contact person will receive confirmation of a designated tailgate space.  All sales are final and non-transferrable.  No refunds.  This is a rain or shine event.

Note: Upon reservation approval, you will receive a message in Eventeny to select your preferred tailgate space.  We will do our best to accommodate the preferred tailgate space #.  If your preferred space is not available, we will contact you to review your options.  

The contact person indicated on the application should be the person who will be checking in on event day.  This person must be 18 years of age or older, AND be able to provide a government issued I.D. at check-in.  This person will be the primary contact person for the event and will assume ALL responsibility of ensuring that all tailgate rules are followed.

Location

Tailgaters may only set-up within the designated area within the event footprint of 'Aggies on Elm', during the set-up, event, and clean up time frame, 10:00am - 7:00pm on Saturday, October 31, 2026.  The event ends at 6:00pm.  All tailgate guests are expected to clean up and leave the area by 7:00pm.  See tailgate map of the designated area.

Parking & Guests

Only ONE vehicle is permitted to park in each tailgate space.  Once parked, it must be turned OFF (engine not running) for the remainder of the event.  A parking pass will be provided at check-in on event day. 

 

All ticket holders are permitted to have guests inside the tailgate area.  However, guests will not be permitted to park inside the established tailgate area. The nearest public parking area is the Greene Street Parking Deck for the single tailgate space, and the February One Parking Deck for Group Tailgate spaces.

Respect others

Tailgaters should be respectful of other tailgate attendees, spaces and entrances.  Please do not block driveways or interfere with parking.

 

Equipment & Set-up

Tailgate equipment will be inspected by the City of Greensboro before use, and all tanks, grills, and cookers must be in good working order. A fire extinguisher is required. No grills or cookers under a tent.  All tents must be properly weighted down with at least 20lbs per leg, OR, per the manufacturer instructions (visible on tent), whichever is greater.  

Generators are permitted, however, they must be located outside of a tent and at least 20ft away from any building or structure.  Generators should be positioned so that fumes are pointed away from tents, people, and other structures. Generators should have 3 to 4 feet of clear space on all sides and above them for adequate ventilation.  Use manufacturer-supplied cords or heavy-duty, low-gauge extension cords that are outdoor-rated and grounded. Generators may be checked by the City of Greensboro at any time.  

 

Alcohol

Tailgate guests CAN consume alcohol that is brought in by the tailgate ticketholder WITHIN the tailgate area, only.  All other consumption in the Downtown Area, including along Elm Street in non-tailgate areas, are subject to the City of Greensboro's Border of Refreshments Outdoors (BORO) program. Alcohol sales are NOT permitted during Aggies on Elm.

 

Weapons

Firearms and other weapons are not permitted.

Illegal Drugs

The use, sale or distribution of illegal drugs is not permitted.

 

Behavior

Indecent behavior, including offensive language or obscene gestures, is not permitted.

Sales/Merchandise

Tailgate ticket holders are not permitted to sell food, beverages, or merchandise during 'Aggies on Elm'.  Doing so may result in removal from the event.

Waste Disposal, Clean-up and Exit

Limited waste receptacles will be available for waste disposal, but glass bottles are not allowed. Tailgaters are required to clean up and leave the Tailgate area by 7:00pm.  This includes removing any trash that has not been placed in an appropriate trash receptacle.

Inclement Weather & Emergencies

'Aggies on Elm' is a rain or shine event.  Refunds will not be issued due to weather.  In the event of inclement weather or emergency, emergency information will be distributed via Eventeny and text message. 

Safety

The Greensboro Police Department and EMS will be on-site during the event.

Additional Guidelines

Additional tailgate guidelines may be deemed necessary prior to or during event day.  The organizers of 'Aggies on Elm' reserve the right to enforce all new guidelines, regardless of timing.  All participants (ticket holders) and their guests will be required to adjust to all current and new guidelines.

Failure to follow the 'Aggies on Elm' tailgating rules, at any time, will result in the cancellation of the tailgate reservation, without refund. All rules will be strictly enforced.
